D

I look into your eyes and wish I was there
To drink you in, run my fingers through your hair
We’re miles apart in body, not mind
I hope that one day, my heart you’ll find

Kicking back, hanging cool like a teddy bear
Looking at you with your smile so fair
Down on the sand where the beach meets the sea
Time for reflection, time to just be

But strangers we are and strangers we’ll stay
Unless we decide to go out of our way
And bite the bullet and cross that distance
To see it as a reward for our persistence

The sands of time will run and run
It seems like life has only just begun
Time to forget all the strife and the pain
Just lie back and know if it rains, it rains
